Water, sanitation, and hygiene development

The target communities and their livestock’s increased access to clean water is a top priority for HOD. The following tactics will be employed: Make safe, clean drinking water more accessible Raise awareness and encourage hygiene education.

Activities:

Building and repairing shallow wells as water sources.
Conducting water quality tests to improve it.
Establishing water committees and educating them on how to operate and maintain water sources.
Creating and educating hygiene advocates.
Educating hygiene advocates.
Provide hygiene and sanitation-related training to build community capacity.
Building gender-sensitive restrooms or remodeling existing restrooms with lockable doors.
Dispersing hygiene kits.
Manufacturing and distribution of hygiene products.

Educational development

HOD strives to promote quality education program for IDPs and the local host community in south-central Somalia to ensure every child have access to quality education and learning materials in order to create a responsible and respectable society able to overcome challenges that occur in our everyday life.
