However, her hopes were met with the harsh reality of limited resources and financial constraints. To make matters worse, her husband and two children were still trapped in Tuliguled village due to the exorbitant transportation costs.

During the initial days in the IDP camp, Amina faced significant struggles in finding food and water for her family. However, the residents of the camp rallied together, offering support and solidarity, which provided some solace during those difficult times. Unbeknownst to her, relief was on its way.Amina was fortunate to be among the beneficiaries of this SDRFP project, receiving WASH NFI items to address her pressing needs. Thanks to the benevolent support, Amina received two crucial jerrycans—one with a capacity of 10 liters and another with a capacity of 20 liters. These jerrycans played a vital role in their daily lives at the IDP camp, alleviating the constant worry of water scarcity. Additionally, the jerrycans contributed to maintaining proper sanitation in the camp, making it easier to manage latrines.

The provision of soaps further enhanced their living conditions. Improved hygiene practices boosted their self-confidence as they could now bathe regularly and wear clean, fresh clothes, making them feel more dignified and respected within the community.Amina’s life had taken a positive turn, and she was filled with gratitude for the support received from Himilo Organization and Mercy Corps. Their joint efforts had provided her and her family with the means to survive and thrive in the face of adversity at the IDP camp.
