LOA No:  130/2022 Burtinle district of Nugaal region, Puntland state of Somalia This project aimed to address the immediate needs of the drought-affected households through a cash-for-work approach and unconditional cash transfers and to safeguard the community assets that the most vulnerable households depend on for livelihood in Burtinle district of Nugaal region, Puntland state of Somalia 500 (289 Males and 211 Females) Five hundred (500) beneficiaries in Burtinle district have improved in terms of food and nutrition security by increasing access to sufficient foods and a nutritious diet through cash for work (CFW) and unconditional cash transfers (UCT). A total of 194,760 USD has been paid to the 500 beneficiaries.
LOA No:   167/2022 Eyl district, Nugaal region of Puntland state, Somalia The objective of this project was to provide for the immediate needs of vulnerable pastoral households affected by the drought in Eyl district, Nugaal region of Puntland state, Somalia, through unconditional cash transfer (UCT), to cover immediate household food needs and range cubes for their livestock to improve their animal health and milk production. 800 (381 males and 419 females) Eight hundred (800) beneficiaries in Eyl district have improved in terms of food and nutrition security by increasing access to sufficient foods and a nutritious diet, as well as the well-being of their livestock, through the Cash Plus Livestock project. 800 beneficiaries received a total of USD 308,100 for six months
LOA No:  101/2023 Abudwak district The aim of the project is to reverse caseloads with the greatest status of   humanitarian crisis and rather initiate opportunities to a better living condition, self-reliance and ensuring that the affected households have uninterrupted food security status through predictable longer term cash assistance, nutrition and VSLA contributions on Improved household food security and protection of livestock assets of pastoral populations in Cabudwaaq district. 384 (141 Males and 243 Females) Three hundred eighty-four (384) beneficiaries in Abudwak district IDPs with critical livelihood assets were protected, and food production boosted for improved access to and availability of nutritious food as well improved capacity of crises- prone communities to effectively anticipate, withstand and recover from shocks and stresses through cash transfer of 35 USD received by 209 out of 384 beneficiaries in a combined monthly basis and VSLA groups formations.
LOA No:   171/2022 Abudwak The main aim of the project was to improve household food security and protection of livestock assets of pastoral populations in Cabudwaaq district Galmudug Somalia. 1000 (460 men and 540 women).  indirect beneficiaries 2,790 people 1,000 beneficiaries in Cabudwaaq district have protected valuable livestock assets, improved food, and nutrition security by increasing access to livestock supplementary feeding.
Somali Drought Response and Famine Prevention (SDRFP) Program Benadir, Bay, Gedo, Low Juba, Mudug, Middle Shabelle, Galgadud, Lower Shabelle, Bakool, Nugal, Maroodijeex, and Sahil regions The Somalia Drought Response and Famine Mitigation Program, led by Himilo Organization for Development in partnership with Mercy Corps, aimed to tackle the severe impacts of drought in Somalia through both immediate relief and long-term sustainable recovery measures. 430 (185 Men and 245 Women) Water Source Rehabilitation: A major step involved assessing and rehabilitating critical water sources, guided by community feedback. The formation of Water Management Committees ensured sustainable management and maintenance of these resources.

Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance: Vulnerable households received financial support to meet essential needs like food and water, increasing their resilience and dignity.

WASH Initiatives: The program distributed hygiene-related non-food items and promoted hygiene practices to prevent waterborne diseases, while also improving sanitation through environmental cleaning and waste management.

Focus on Women and Girls: Distribution of Menstrual Hygiene Management kits and educational efforts addressed women’s health needs and aimed to reduce stigma around menstrual hygiene.

Health and Disease Prevention: Training community health workers on disease prevention and broadcasting health messages enhanced the community’s capacity to handle health emergencies.

Emergency Shelter: Distribution of Emergency Shelter Kits provided immediate shelter to displaced households, offering protection and a semblance of normalcy.

Water Trucking: This initiative ensured a reliable supply of safe drinking water, crucial in areas where traditional water sources were no longer viable.

LOA No:   159/2022 Kismayo The project’s sole purpose was to ensure consumption of safe, healthy and nutritious food to vulnerable populace in Kismayo who lost their most basic assets and resources as a result of frequent disaster 900 (382 males and 518 females)

 

 

A total of 900 beneficiaries living in abject poverty in Kismayo district have been provided with, social protection and access to healthy and nutritious food through cash plus fishery
Improved community engagement for covid-19 control and containment and mitigation for disease program Covid-19, HIV, TB and malaria

 

 

Abudwak Improved community engagement for COVID 19 control and containment and mitigation for disease program C 19 for HIV, TB, and Malaria was implemented by Himilo Organization for Development in collaboration with WARDI relief and development organization in order to increase community capacity in disease prevention and response through training, consultative forums, and awareness campaigns 229 (84 Males and 145 Females)
